Meet the StaffJohn F. DohertyPresident John was raised in Winchester, MA and graduated from University of Rhode Island with a BA in Psychology after spending a semester abroad at the University College of London. John came into the business in 1987 to join his father and has spent all of his 19 years in insurance with Lehrer & Madden. He received his training in Hartford, CT at the Aetna Insurance Institute and became a licensed broker in 1988. He is currently taking courses toward a CRIS designation (Construction Risk Insurance Specialist). John oversees the operation of the agency and sets the direction. L&M's goals are to be able to provide the best product and service, so that our clients feel they will get straight, honest answers to their insurance questions and concerns. John lives in Belmont with his wife, Traci, a nurse practitioner at Suffolk University, their two daughters, Anna and Layne and son Declan. Besides family life, John enjoys fishing, skiing, tennis and golf. He has been able to combine his passion for fishing and creative painting through the art form known as Gyotaku (fish rubbing). Email John at jdoherty@lehrermadden.com. Michael F. DohertyVice President Michael F. Doherty has been in the insurance business for 15 years. He joined Lehrer & Madden in 1993 after living in Vail Colorado for two plus years. His primary role with the agency is maintaining client relationships focused on business retention and growth. Mr. Doherty is a graduate of the Elite School. An insurance training and education school offered by the Professional Insurance Agents of New England. Mr. Doherty holds his BA degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. He is a licensed producer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the Division of Insurance for life, accident/health, property/casualty, and personal lines insurance. Mr. Doherty is an active member of Insurance Services of New England , LLC. ( ISNE, LLC.) Outside of the insurance world, Mr. Doherty enjoys time spent with his wife Katie and their three daughters. Nehila (Connie)General Manager Army Brat - born in Washington DC - Connie lived in the DC area, Chicago and Germany before her father retired and her family settled in Connecticut. She currently lives in West Roxbury, MA. Connie attended Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and graduated from University of Connecticut in Storrs with high honors. She moved to Boston in 1973 and started working for Brewer & Lord at 40 Broad Street in Boston as an auto rater. In March of 1975, she went to work for Chapin-Wood Insurance in Central Square, Cambridge as a Personal Lines Underwriter. She was promoted in 1978 to Underwriting Supervisor. In March of 1985, Connie came to work at Lehrer & Madden as Personal Line Manager. She was promoted to General Operations Manager in 1989. She is a Licensed Insurance Broker since 1976. Connie has one daughter, Sarah. She enjoys reading, photography and travel and has traveled extensively in the US, the Caribbean and Europe. Carol Brown, CICCommercial Manager Born and raised in Natick - Carol now lives in Bellingham. She obtained an Associates in Science from Mass Bay Community College. She is a certified Insurance Counselor and has completed two Commercial Risk Manager seminars. She is also a Licensed Insurance Broker. Carol entered into the insurance industry full time in the early 1990's and later joined the Lehrer & Madden staff in the fall of 1996. Carol is married with two children. She enjoys family vacations, camping, watching her children participate in school & town sports and theater and long motorcycle rides with her husband. Email Carol at cbrown@lehrermadden.com. Angela Davison, CISRCustomer Account Representative, Personal Lines Born and raised in Worcester and Milford - Angela now lives in Grafton. She attended Ward Scholl of Business and Clark University. Angela worked as a Personal Lines Service Representative with various agencies for 20 years before joining Lehrer & Madden in 2002. She is a Licensed insurance broker since 1983. Angela has two children & two grandchildren. She is active on Grafton Town committees and volunteer boards. She enjoys cooking and crafts (particularly quilting), and belongs to a quilting group that makes and donates quilts to returning veterans and seriously ill children. Email Angela at adavison@lehrermadden.com. Cindy AllenCustomer Account Representative, Personal Lines Cindy was born and raised in New Jersey, just outside Manhattan. She obtained a BA in Elementary Education from University of Charleston, W.V. Cindy taught 2nd & 3rd grade until her son was born. She worked for Fortis Benefits in Wellesley, Principal Financial Group in Framingham and Palumbo Insurance Agency prior to coming to Lehrer & Madden in October 2007. Cindy is a Licensed Insurance Broker and is working toward CISR designation. Her hobbies include enjoying the Cape and RI beaches, cooking, gardening, very long walks, listening to anything by James Taylor, Andrea Bocelli and the Eagles.browsing thru antique shops and taking car of her cat Chloe. She graduated Boston University, magna cum laude. Before joining Lehrer & Madden in 1986, Bonnie worked for various companies and agencies. She is a Licensed Real Estate and Insurance Broker and attained Accredited Advisor in Insurance designation in 2006. Bonnie has one daughter. Joan DeFazio, CISRCustomer Account Representative, Commercial Lines Joan was born and raised in Wellesley, MA. She obtained an Associates in Computer Science from Mass Bay Community College While raising two daughters, Joan worked in the Claims Department at Aetna. She ran a family business in New Hampshire before returning to MA in 1996 and joining Lehrer & Madden in 1996. Joan is a Licensed Insurance Broker. Joan enjoys traveling, having visited Greece, Italy and Ireland as well as many Caribbean vacations. She has recently begun exploring the American Southwest. Email Joan at jdefazio@lehrermadden.com. Linda Brady, CISRCustomer Account Representative, Commercial Lines Linda was born and raised in Natick, MA. She attended Dean Jr. College in Franklin, MA. She worked for various Insurance companies and agencies since 1979 until joining Lehrer & Madden in 2004. She is a Licensed Insurance Broker. Linda has one son and two daughters. Carole LuttonController Born and raised in Medford, Ma - Carole is now a Natick resident. She attended Tufts University and Bentley College. Carole has been responsible for Lehrer & Madden's agency accounting functions since 1973. She has one son, and her hobbies include traveling, reading and knitting. She worked for New England Telephone Company, Honeywell and Lumber Insurance with time out to raise their son, Jon who has served two tours of duty in Iraq. Cathy joined Lehrer & Madden in 2003 as receptionist and provides assistance to all agency departments. She enjoys gardening, knitting and spending time with her two granddaughters. Patti started working in the Claims Department with AMICA in 1989 and worked for two agencies in the Metrowest area. She then joined Lehrer & Madden in 2004 after the birth of her first son and she and her husband recently welcomed their second son into their family. Supple Insurance Agency Born and raised in Boston area - Edward now lives in Natick. He attended Marian High School in Framingham and graduate from Boston College with a BS in Marketing. Edward took over father's agency, which had been affiliated with Lehrer & Madden for many years, in 1973 after his untimely death. He is a Licensed Insurance and Real Estate Broker since 1973. He attained CPCU designation in 1984. Edward is a member of the Board of Trustees for Marian High School. His son, Matt, is an officer in the United States Marine Corps. Sargent, CPCU, LIAProperty & Casualty Insurance Consultant Richard graduated from Indiana State University with a BA in Social Studies & Philosophy. He also served in the US Army and is a Korean War Veteran. Richard served as a Casualty Insurance Underwriter for the Boston Insurance Company and as a Commercial Insurance Underwriter at Safeco Insurance Company (1958-1963) before becoming affiliated with Lehrer & Madden in 1963 as Commercial Insurance Specialist. He is a Licensed Insurance Broker and Property and Casualty Insurance Consultant specializing in large commercial accounts, specifically, contractors, hospitals, financial institutions and international risks. A resident of Arlington, Richard has five children, enjoys travel, several book groups and his extended family. Email Richard at rsargent@lehrermadden.com. Ronald A Drogin, CLULife & Benefits Manager Ronald graduated from high school in Maine and University of Maine (Orono). He obtained securities license in 1967 and attained CLU designation in 1970. Formerly a Life Manager for Aetna. He became affiliated with Lehrer & Madden in 1992 as Independent Broker and Life Manager. Ronald is a lifelong runner who has completed nearly 20 marathons with a best time of 2 hours 32 minutes. He was seeded in the top 50 in the Inaugural NY marathon in 1976. He is married, a father of three children, two step children and five grandchildren. He resides in Framingham and enjoys travel to second home in Boynton Beach, FL and time share in Aruba. Kathie MacLeod, CISRCustomer Account Representative, Personal Lines Kathie MacLeod was born in Dublin, Ireland and has lived in the metro west area for over forty years. She and her husband live in Weston and have two grown daughters. Kathie brings over twenty five years experience in the insurance industry, she joined the Lehrer and Madden personal lines department in December of 2008. Her interests include travel, both domestic and international, and nature. She has enjoyed visits to South Africa, Canada, Ireland, England, Belgium and France.
